Such a classic.

Ingredients

1 c. shortening
1 1/4 c sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 3/4 c. flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. soda 1/2 tsp. salt

3 Tbsp.sugar 1 1/2 Tbsp. cinnamon

Directions

Cream shortening, sugar and eggs together on medium until fully and light, lower speed to med-low and add vanilla. Add flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt and continue mixing until well combined. Mix together sugar and cinnamon in small bowl. Form dough into small balls, walnut size. Roll in cinnamon mixture and place onto baking sheet. Optionally the balls can be pressed flat to about 3/4in thick with the bottom of a glass before baking.

Bake at 450F for approx 8 min.

Cookies will still be very soft when taken out, leave to cool a few minutes before transfering to a cooling rack.
